Inside the cab of Janick's truck it’s really cosy. "It doesn’t have many frills," he admits. "Even though my lorry is my second home, I like to keep things simple. Some people like to decorate it with curtains, scarves, you name it. It's basically a kind of mobile living room that you drive around in every day. But for me, it should definitely not be decorated with bells and whistles. Each to his own, of course. (He laughs)"
Healthy and refreshing
Drivers obviously need food for when they’re on the road, but we don't actually see many snacks within reach here. "Some take a cool box full of food, I just have a backpack to store the essentials," explains Janick. "I try and live as healthy as possible. So you won't find many sweets here. Lots of sparkling water, though. It's healthy and refreshing for when I’m on the road."
Technologie
What we do spot are several cool technological gadgets. Janick: "Comfort Energy's vehicles are all equipped with a CarCube, an on-board computer that basically lets you do everything. It’s not just a GPS, you can also use it to make calls, check your driving and resting times and even print invoices. For that, we have a mini-printer in the cab. On the CarCube, we can view all the scheduled deliveries and also indicate when a delivery has been completed." On the outside of the vehicle, we find the counting device, which shows the litres supplied. It’s similar to the meter at a petrol station. Janick and his colleagues always make a printout, as proof for the customer.

But the technology doesn't stop there. "We also have an electronic probe, which ensures the fuel oil tank doesn’t overflow during filling. Thanks to the probe, the tanker’s supply is automatically stopped once the maximum is reached. It comes in very handy when we are in a location where we can’t see the fuel tank level very well."
Safe and smooth operation
All in all, Janick is really happy in his job. "Time passes quickly and the journeys are interesting. I like the peace and quiet and the views, and enjoy the challenge of making each trip as safe and smooth as possible. It’s fantastic, like having an office on wheels!"
