With this new partnership, Comfort Energy strengthens its leading position as the largest heating oil supplier in Belgium and Luxembourg. The Gabriëls Power group is as fuel oil supplier mainly active in East and West Flanders, where Comfort Energy now further increases its local anchoring. After the earlier acquisition of Q8Mazout, Comfort Energy takes the next step in its growth ambitions. At the same time, Comfort Energy hands over some petrol stations to Gabriëls Power, which in turn continues to focus on the growth of its network of petrol stations in Belgium.

Stefan Baeten, Chief Executive Officer Comfort Energy: "Comfort Energy is always looking for opportunities in Belgium and abroad to grow further. Thanks to strategic partnerships, we succeed in increasing our efficiency and we have more clout in the energy transition. In short, we are growing as a company and helping to build a more sustainable future."

Gabriëls Family: "Our focus for many years has been on expanding our network of petrol stations. In 2019, we took an important step through the acquisition of Power, making us an important provider of motor fuels throughout Flanders and in part of Wallonia. In this market, we strive to play at the top. In turn, we welcome a number of Comfort Energy petrol stations into our group, thus reinforcing our market position. The family values that Comfort Energy upholds are extremely important to us as a family business. Just like Gabriëls, proximity and excellent service for our customers are central to Comfort Energy. We are therefore pleased to have found a partner where both our employees and our customers will feel at home."

For the fuel oil customers of Gabriëls Power, nothing will change as a result of the takeover. However, they will now also have access to all services of Comfort Energy: Mazout Energy+, Mazout Extra Energy+ and various tank services including tank inspections, neutralisations and the installation of new tanks. The number of employees in Comfort Energy increases by 18 to a joint workforce of around 350. The joint fleet also increases to nearly 200 trucks. Comfort Energy further strengthens its market position in the energy transition with already more than 1 billion litres in portfolio.
