Frank has been working as a logistics coach for Comfort Energy Group across Belgium and Luxembourg for over five years. “I coordinate the training of new employees and monitor their performance,” Frank says. “I also manage the truck coaches and provide additional one-day training courses. What we do is very valuable because we provide our drivers with the right know-how to go out on the road confidently and competently and help the customer. An undeniable asset!”
Introduction
Wondering what your start as a driver for Comfort Energy Group will look like? To get acquainted, new drivers first join an experienced truck coach for a day of making deliveries. “This way, you’re right out there in the field and can see what the job entails,” says Frank. “You experience everything, learn to control the on-board computer, see how the product is delivered to the customer… you name it. And you’ll learn more and more in the two weeks that follow. The counting, settling up with the customer, operating the pump… You can start here with little experience and master everything within a short time.”
Practical job
The practical side of the job should really be emphasised in the driver training. Frank explains it, saying, “The ‘theoretical’ training just consists of a list of abbreviations that will appear on the receipts and learning the differences between the products we transport. Otherwise, the three truck coaches and I are mainly concerned with you as a person and driver. We want to invest in you. That way, you can head out onto the road well-prepared and independently.” And Comfort Energy Group has a team of experienced drivers who can rely on each other.
